Your city is public. Your email is not.
Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Mayors of the World collects, what stays on your phone, why connected features need data, and how to delete a purchase-backed account.
Effective 30 July 2026
1. Who we are
Mayors of the World is a political satire and city decision game operated by Sitetrail LLC (“Mayors of the World,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy applies to the Android app, mayorsoftheworld.com, and related services that link to it.
Privacy questions may be sent to support@mayorsoftheworld.com.
2. Free play and information kept on your device
The free core game works locally without an account or email. Authored crises, timers, choices, simulation, consequences, elections, Legacy, local saves, packaged images, share-card rendering, and the standard daily notification bank run on your device.
Local game progress, settings, language, notification state, and generated share cards remain on the device unless you choose a connected feature or share a card through another app. You can remove local data by using the in-app reset controls, clearing the app’s storage, or uninstalling it.
We do not require a durable guest profile for free play. Public configuration, content manifests, advertisements, and public winner lists may be fetched without creating an account.
3. Information we collect
Information you provide
- Purchase-backed account: email address, Google sign-in identifier, application session, and the display name you choose for eligible public winner lists.
- Cabinet interactions: a policy you type, the current crisis, necessary indicators, relevant recent decisions, selected language, and advisor context needed to respond.
- Support: the information you include in an email or report.
Information generated through connected use
- Purchases: Google Play product, purchase-token fingerprint, entitlement, acknowledgement or consumption status, subscription period, cancellation, expiry, refund, and revocation state. We do not receive full card details.
- Service and security: opaque account or install identifiers, timestamps, request identifiers, integrity and abuse-prevention signals, limited network information, error categories, and privacy-minimized operational events.
- Leaderboards: eligible public display name, verified score components, governing style, city, and result. Email addresses are never public.
- Advertising and consent: where ads are enabled, Google’s advertising and consent services may process device, advertising, consent, approximate-region, and ad-interaction information according to your choices and applicable law.
4. How we use information
- protect, verify, restore, acknowledge, or consume purchases;
- maintain Civic Credits, subscription allowances, Cabinet access, ad-removal rights, and qualifying purchase history;
- produce requested Cabinet discussions and safely apply structured results;
- operate verified leaderboards, cloud recovery, and friend challenges;
- prevent fraud, abuse, duplicate grants, manipulated scores, and excessive provider spend;
- diagnose failures using event names and technical status—not raw Cabinet text in general logs;
- provide support, satisfy legal obligations, and enforce our Terms.
We do not sell your email, Cabinet text, or game history. We do not use purchase-backed account emails as public leaderboard names.
5. Service providers
We use service providers only where needed to operate the product. These can include:
- Google Play for distribution, purchases, subscriptions, refunds, and integrity signals;
- Google/Firebase for purchase-triggered sign-in, limited analytics, crash or delivery support where enabled, and consent-aware advertising through AdMob and the User Messaging Platform;
- Cloudflare for the public API, security, durable account and entitlement state, logs, content delivery, and this website;
- DeepSeek and a low-cost OpenAI model as configured primary or fallback language-model providers for requested live Cabinet discussions.
The app sends providers only the compact context needed for the requested feature. Provider selection can change for availability, safety, language, quality, latency, regional, or cost reasons. We configure contractual and technical controls where available, but provider processing remains subject to applicable provider terms and our configuration.
6. Advertising, analytics, and website data
The free tier may display ads after completed moments, never during a countdown, Cabinet discussion, or before a chosen action resolves. Ads are not disguised as city alerts. Consent choices are presented where required.
Product analytics are limited to defined events such as onboarding, feature use, purchase state, and technical failure. General telemetry must not contain raw custom-policy text or advisor responses.
This website may receive standard Cloudflare security and delivery logs. We do not use a website account, and we do not require nonessential cookies to read these pages.
7. Retention
Local free-play data remains until you reset it, clear app storage, or uninstall. Purchase-backed account and entitlement data remains while the account is active and as needed to restore paid value. Unresolved Cabinet requests are retained only while needed for recovery, then cleared or reduced to privacy-safe records.
Deletion removes ordinary account data and deletable game history. We may retain minimum transaction, refund, tax, accounting, fraud-prevention, security, legal-compliance, and deletion-proof records. Technical and security logs may remain for up to 90 days unless a longer period is required for an active investigation or law.
8. Your choices and deletion
You can play free without an account, decline optional notifications, adjust advertising consent where available, avoid live Cabinet, choose what to share, and request deletion of a purchase-backed account.
Use the app’s Privacy & Support controls or follow our account-deletion instructions. Deleting the account does not automatically cancel a Google Play subscription.
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object, or receive a copy of personal information. Contact us to exercise them.
9. Children and age
The service is not directed to children under 13. If you are below the age of legal majority where you live, use the service only with permission from a parent or guardian and only if Google Play permits your account to make or approve the relevant purchase. Parents or guardians may contact us about a child’s information.
10. Security, transfers, and changes
We use access controls, encryption in transit, idempotent purchase claims, server-side entitlements, limited logs, abuse controls, and secret storage. No system can guarantee absolute security.
Providers may process information in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate contractual or legal safeguards. We may update this policy as the app, providers, or law changes and will post the new effective date here.
